The Northern California Packet Association operates as a single point of contact for the various special interest within the field of amateur digital radio. These special interests are nominally segregated by frequency (see the NCPA Packet Band Plan) and may have their own rules that guide the conduct of the stations within their network. The NCPA encourages representatives from all packet special interest groups to be on the Board of Directors.
